Yiddish, Translation, and a World Literature To-Come

What does it mean for a modern Yiddish writer to write for or against the world? This talk examines the ways in which Yiddish writers seek to gain entry into the institutions and markets of world literature while also encountering the impossibilities of translation and transcultural exchange.
